We know how important it is that children make a good start at secondary school. We work closely with our partner primary schools to ensure a happy and successful transfer, taking Year 6 pupils away for a residential visit during the summer term to help establish new friendships in the tutor groups to which they will belong for the next five years.

In Year 7 pupils are mainly taught in these tutor groups before being set according to their ability in different subjects when they move into year 8.
